China's rapid development and Sino-American relations have a direct impact on the lives of just about everyone in the United States. The seventh annual CHINA Town Hall will feature a live webcast with Madeleine Albright, the 64th United States Secretary of State. She is currently chair of Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm, and chair of Albright Capital Management LLC, an investment advisory firm focused on emerging markets.

"Reforming the Dragon: The Third Plenum and Hopes of Economic Rebirth in China"

Jason Rockett will be MCFR's in-person discussion leader for this year's CHINA Town Hall. Jason is chief operating officer and senior China analyst for a boutique advisory firm in Boston, which informs a dozen major hedge funds and multinational corporations on geopolitical and economic affairs. He is an expert in Chinese political, economic and military affairs and is regularly consulted by private and government agencies.  He has special interest in Chinese national politics and governmental organization, Chinese political and economic reforms (including those of the upcoming Third Plenum), the future of the PRC’s relations with Japan, North Korea, Russia and ASEAN nations, and China’s rapidly developing shadow banking (i.e. alternative lending) sector.  He also writes regularly on the future of Chinese domestic consumption, urban development, RMB regionalization, and China’s future energy needs.
