LAST DAY TO REGISTER: TUES, MARCH 14, 2023
Several Latin American countries have tremendous lithium resources, and accessing them could solve a huge headache for the US in meeting its demand for rechargeable batteries for EVs and other electrification needs. Yet whether and how to develop these resources is proving more challenging, and each country is responding differently, as nationalism and environmental concerns run up against the lure of new economic opportunities.
Ms. Emily Pickrell is a Global Energy Scholar at the University of Houston and an energy journalist whose work has appeared in the Houston Chronicle, the Christian Science Monitor and other national publications. She spent five years covering Mexico and Latin America’s energy markets. Currently, Ms. Pickrell is focused on the energy transition and its environmental and economic impact on emerging markets in Latin America.
This in-person event will be held at the Madison Club @ 6pm.
